Kneecap have laid out plans for their debut album.
The Irish hip hop trio, Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap, and DJ Próvaí, will drop 'Fine Art' through Heavenly Recordings on June 14.
Produced by Toddla T, it boasts contributions from Lankum's Radie Peat, London artist Jelani Blackman, and Grian Chatten of Fontaines D.C. who features on their 2023 single Better Way To Live. As a further preview, Kneecap have dropped a new punchy rap track, Sick In The Head. The group said:
"When working on the album we had periods of great productivity but also periods with a total lack of anything creatively.
"Towards the end of recording we hit a proper wall and this is the result. Our mental health was being tested and we said fuck it it we’re doomed to mental torture we want to have some money to get through it. We’ve had enough of it while being broke round Belfast."
Head below to view the single's video, directed by Peadar Ó Goill. Kneecap said of the clip: "We're in the centre of a sweaty mosh pit mid-gig in a dark warehouse room. This pit represents emotional state, from fucked up and chaotic to moments of clarity and calmness. The warehouse offers escape - from the mundane... for the marginalised."
The news follows their recent success at the Sundance Film Festival with their forthcoming Rich Peppiatt-directed self-titled, semi-autobiographical biopic starring Michael Fassbender.
Kneecap have also confirmed new UK tour dates for the autumn, which will follow North American dates this spring, and a number of festival appearances this summer, including slots at Reading andLeeds.
Tickets for the UK shows go on general sale at 10am on Friday (February 23).
