Seasick Steve Plots Autumn UK And European Tour, Shares Two New Songs

Seasick Steve has announced new UK and European shows.
In addition to his previously confirmed UK in-store dates in June, the singer-songwriter will embark on a European tour later in the year, following on from a number of festival appearances this summer, including Wychwood Festival, Black Deer Festival, Beach Festival in Nieuwpoort, Belgium, and Latitude Festival.
The new trek includes shows in Southampton, Nottingham, Cambridge, Bath, Manchester, Glasgow, Wolverhampton and London between November 9 and 21. He'll also play dates in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Poland, Switzerland and France earlier in the autumn. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on March 15.
In February, Steve announced a new album, 'A Trip A Stumble A Fall Down On Your Knees', which is due out on June 7 via So Recordings. It'll feature the previously released Backbone Slip, as well as the newly shared singles Funky Music and Let The Music Talk.
The former offers flourishes of horns, giving an upbeat southern soul vibe, while the latter is a more traditional, brooding country-blues affair. Commenting on Funky Music, Steve said:
"This track is super fun to play! It’s just about funking it up, I have always loved funk! Bands like Sly and The Family Stone, Tower Of Power you know, that was the influence here, it’s a soul thang!"
On the album, he continued: "This album was made by mistake, as the title suggests we just tripped and stumbled into it, and it became my favourite album ever and the piece of work I’m most proud of to date. There’s not a week goes by that I don’t thank my lucky stars for that night on the Hootenanny which has brought us here to this record."
