Ezra Collective Announce Autumn UK and European Tour, Share New Single Ajala

Ezra Collective will tour the UK and Europe this autumn.
The 2023 Mercury Music Prize winners have lined up shows in Berlin, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Cologne, Amsterdam, Lyon, Milan, Zurich, Paris, Lille and Brussels between October 15 and November 1.
They'll then take a short break before the UK and Ireland leg, which calls in Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester, Dublin, Bristol and London, where they'll conclude the tour at the OVO Arena Wembley on November 15. They are the first UK jazz act to headline the venue. Tickets for all dates go on general sale at 10am on May 3.
Meanwhile, head below to check out the London-based band's new single, Ajala, which takes its name from the Ghanaian-Nigerian adventurer Olabisi Ajala, who toured the world on his scooter, travelling across 87 countries. It's a teaser of what to expect on the follow-up to their 2023 album, 'Where I'm Meant To Be', which is due out this year. Bandleader Femi Koleoso said:
"Ajala the Traveller is a journalist from Nigeria whose story is really beautiful. He decided that he wanted to travel the whole world on a moped and what ended up happening was his name became slang in Yoruba.
"Ajala travel’ is slang for someone that can't sit still. It's the way a lot of people would describe me, but for me it's also what a great drum beat does, it's what great music does to me, it means I can't sit still and I just want to move. Ajala is all about that movement."
As well as appearing at multiple festival's this summer, Ezra Collective will perform on May 11 at the British Library’s upcoming Beyond the Bassline: 500 Years of Black British music exhibition.
