Katy J Pearson has laid out plans for her third studio album.

The follow-up to 2022's 'Sound Of The Morning' is titled 'Someday, Now' and will arrive through Heavenly Recordings on September 20.

Recorded at the famous Rockfield Studios in Wales, the 10-track LP finds Pearson joined by an all-star band comprising Heavenly label-mates Davey Newington of Boy Azooga and Huw Evans of H Hawkline, alongside Joel Burton. She said:

"I knew exactly who I wanted to work with, I knew exactly who my session band were going to be, I knew where I wanted to record. It felt like I was finally calling the shots for myself, and that was so empowering."

As a preview, the Bristol singer-songwriter has shared the record's lead single and opening track, Those Goodbyes, which finds her showcasing a fresh, relaxed vocal style over lilting Americana-inflected folk-pop melodies.

"It’s funny, I used to feel like I had to go high for people to hear the vulnerability," she continued. "But actually, singing in your natural range and being relaxed in it — I think there’s something a lot more vulnerable about that."

Alongside the news, Pearson has announced a UK tour for the winter, with a London date at KOKO scheduled for February 2025. Tickets for all dates go on general sale at 10am next Friday (May 31).

Next week, she'll play two sold-out concerts in London and Bristol, where she will preview music from 'Someday, Now'.

She recently featured on Yard Act's song When The Laughter Stops from the Leeds band's sophomore album, 'Where’s My Utopia?', released in March. In 2023, she teamed up with the likes of Metronomy, Orlando Weeks and Wet Leg to reinterpret the score of The Wicker Man, in celebration of the film's 50th anniversary.

'Someday, Now' tracklist:

1. Those Goodbyes
2. Save Me
3. It’s Mine Now
4. Maybe
5. Grand Final
6. Long Range Driver
7. Constant
8. Someday
9. Siren Song
10. Sky
