LL Cool J is back from an extended hiatus with a new single, Saturday Night Special.
Arriving via Def Jam Recordings/Virgin Music Group, the rap track finds the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee trading bars with collaborators Rick Ross and Fat Joe over a hip hop, jazz and funk influenced instrumental.
Produced by Q-Tip, it serves as the first single off the two-time Grammy-winner's long-awaited 14th studio album, 'The Force (Frequencies of Real Creative Energy)', which is expected in the autumn. His last studio record came in the form of 2013's 'Authentic'. He said:
"Saturday Night Special is just the beginning. There’s a lot more where this came from, and I’m hype for y'all to hear this new record. We’re doing this for the fans and for Hip-Hop culture."
