Hamish Hawk has shared a new single, Men Like Wire.

The anthemic indie-rock track offers up the Edinburgh singer-songwriter's sharp lyrical flair and serves as the third preview of his new album, 'A Firmer Hand', due out on August 16 via SO Recordings.

Hawk previously teased the record with the singles Big Cat Tattoos, and its follow-up Nancy Dearest in June. Commenting on the new cut, he said:

"In Bakerloo, Unbecoming, I wrote "essentially it comes down [again] to the limitless mysteries of other men". Men Like Wire is a deeper excavation of that idea. In short, it’s about men. Men I have and haven’t known, men I’ve seen, heard, loved and lost. Men I’ve been seated next to at weddings, bus stops and dinner parties, on trains, beds and park benches. They’re all in there, for better, for worse."

Head below to view the new song's accompanying video, which was directed by Andrew Pearson, the guitarist in Hawk's live band and co-songwriter.

Hawk will support the follow-up to 2023's 'Angel Numbers' with dates throughout the rest of the year, including a show supporting Elbow at Englefield House, Reading on July 21, an appearance at Cardiff's Sŵn Festival in October, and gigs supporting Travis in December.

He also has a number of in-store and out-store gigs lined up in the run-up to the LP's release. Head here for details.
