Wargasm have dropped their first single of 2024, 70% Dead.
The collaboration with Corey Taylor deals in the London-based duo's unique fusion of metalcore, electro and rap elements, and was recorded while the pair were touring the United States supporting the Slipknot frontman on his run of solo dates. Commenting on the link-up, they said:
"We were on the road in the USA with Corey – Sam ended up jumping on a mic with him during his set and we just felt like the voices sounded right together. It totally made sense to do something fresh with the three of us and well…. you don’t ask you don’t get."
They continued: "Some OG fans might recognize the lyrics, this has been a long time coming. 70% Dead is a cry out at a world gone mad; war, disease, inequality. It feels like something is brewing. 'Fuck me, what went wrong? I’m sick of sleeping on the barrel of a loaded gun'"
Wargasm will headline The Cave stage at 2000trees festival tomorrow (July 13), before supporting Korn at London's Gunnersbury Park on August 11. They released their debut album, 'Venom', last October.
Slipknot, meanwhile, will continue the 25th anniversary celebrations around their self-titled debut album with the North American leg of their Here Comes The Pain Tour, beginning in August. They'll also headline Rocklahoma and Knotfest Iowa this summer, before celebrating the milestone with winter shows across Europe and the UK. Tickets are on sale now.
