Rat Boy Announce Third Album 'Suburbia Calling' With New Single Badman

Rat Boy have announced their third album.
News of 'Suburbia Calling' arrives alongside the release of their new single, Badman, which combines Britpop and '90s indie with ska grooves.
Having previously recorded in Los Angeles with Rancid's Tim Armstrong, played festivals in Japan and China, and toured North America with The Interrupters, the band explore stories from their Essex roots on the new record.
The Southeast county serves as a central topic, with the group building the album just outside Chelmsford, in a converted barn HQ that is used as an all-in-one recording studio, rehearsal space, art studio, storage space and hangout spot. Frontman Jordan Cardy said:
"I wanted to sing about Essex. Essex is where we live and when you’ve grown up somewhere you notice things about it. There’s so much to draw on. Essex is really close to London but it’s different in a lot of ways. We’ve got a lot of freedom here, we built a place where we can record and rehearse and hang out, somewhere you wouldn’t be able to have in London."
Rat Boy, which was originally a solo project of Cardy's, previously teased the LP with the single One In A Million featuring rapper Lil Aaron. It'll arrive on October 4 through Hellcat Records.
