Stormzy has joined forces with Chase And Status for a new single.
Having already teased Backbone on social media and across a string of festival dates, the clubby, summer banger fuses the London dance duo's distinct drum and bass stylings with the grime legend's sharp lyricism. Chase and Status said:
"We are so gassed to work with the legend that is Stormzy. We’ve always wanted to bring his energy into our world and this are so excited for the fans to hear this collaboration."
It arrives ahead of this weekend's Boardmasters festival, which Chase And Status and Stormzy will headline tonight (August 9) and Sunday (August 11), respectively.
In April, Stormzy featured on Headie One's single Cry No More, from the Tottenham rapper's second album, 'The Last One', which arrived earlier in the summer. Before that, he collaborated with a string of artists, including Jacob Collier and RAYE. His most recent album is 2022's 'This Is What We Mean'.
Chase And Status dropped their latest album, '2 RUFF, Vol 1', in 2023. They'll play Milton Keynes Bowl this Saturday (August 10) before topping the bill at Creamfields later in the month.
Chase And Status Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows
Fri August 09 2024 - NEWQUAY Trebelsue Farm Watergate Bay
Sat August 10 2024 - MILTON KEYNES National Bowl
Sun August 25 2024 - WARRINGTON Daresbury Estate
