Nilüfer Yanya has shared a fourth single from her new album.
The stripped back, melancholic Mutations will appear on 'My Method Actor', due out on September 13 via the London singer-songwriter's new label home Ninja Tune.
Guided by hushed vocals over an airy, percussion-driven production, it follows Call It Love, Method Actor and Like I Say (I Runaway) in previewing the record. Head below to view the song's accompanying video, directed by the artist's sister, Molly Daniel, and filmed on the streets and beaches of Spain. Yanya commented:
"Mutations deals with change brought about by circumstance. This is not the phoenix rising from the ashes but the subtle change that happens constantly as millions of tiny decisions and actions shape your being. It’s kind of like survival, for me. Less of a transformation and more something that’s born out of your environment and surroundings, that you need to do to survive. Mutation is just something you have to go through - you have to evolve."
Nilüfer Yanya will follow the record's release with UK shows in Brighton, Bristol, London, Nottingham and Manchester as part of a wider European tour in the autumn. She also has North American dates in the diary. Tickets are on sale now.
