Christina Aguilera has announced plans to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her eponymous debut album.

According to an exclusive feature published by Rolling Stone, the Grammy-winning pop superstar is set to record live studio "re-imaginings" of the biggest hits from 'Christina Aguilera' for an episode of Spotify Anniversaries, due to air on September 23.

The collaboration will include guest spots from Sabrina Carpenter and Machine Gun Kelly, as well as behind-the-scenes stories from Aguilera about the making of the record. A six-track EP, recorded from Spotify's Mateo studios in Los Angeles, is also set to be released. Check out a teaser video below.

In the interview with Rolling Stone, she said: "I wanted to celebrate the 25th anniversary of my debut album in a way that brings together the past and present. I’ve always enjoyed reimagining my songs with different styles and audiences, as well as playing with sounds and arrangements that showcase how all music can be timeless.

"Recording this project with Spotify was both magical and nostalgic, resurfacing some of my sweetest career memories," she added. "I laughed, I cried, I reconnected with old friends, and I made some very special new ones."

Aguilera released her self-titled first album in 1999. Singles from the record include Genie In A Bottle, What A Girl Wants, and I Turn To You. Her most recent album, 'Aguilera', arrived in 2022.
