Chvrches' Lauren Mayberry Announces Debut Solo Album 'Vicious Creature'

Chvrches' Lauren Mayberry has released a new single, Something In The Air.
Showcasing her distinctive vocals, which are underpinned by '80s and '90s pop-rock production, it'll feature on her upcoming debut album, 'Vicious Creature'. The record is due out later this year via EMI Records in the UK and Island Records in the US, though a release date is still to be confirmed. Introducing the song, she said:
"Something In The Air is a song that really came out of nowhere. I was in London finishing another song with my friend, co-writer and producer Dan McDougall. We were taking a break in the shared kitchen in the studio complex when a pretty iconic British musician, who I won't throw under the bus here, came in and started making conversation about electricity, 5G and how it's making us all sick. Dan and I went for a walk around the block before going back to the studio and were unpacking those theories, and why people want to believe them - and the chorus lyric just appeared."
Over the last year, the Scottish singer has put out a string of singles, including Are You Awake?, Shame, and Change Shapes. She also collaborated with HEALTH this summer on a new version of their track Ashamed, and in late 2023 headed out for her debut solo tour dates across the UK, Europe and North America.
Mayberry will support London Grammar on their UK and European tour in November. Tickets are on sale now.
