Welsh Music Prize Winner L E M F R E C K Shares New Single Slip Away

L E M F R E C K has released a new single, Slip Away.
Fusing elements of drum and bass with R&B, it follows the Newport rapper's August single, Come Outside En. He said:
"Slip Away is a running monologue on what it’s like to realise you’re not ready to commit to a person that evidently likes you. And through no other fault but timing. A realisation you can’t offer what a person needs right now."
L E M F R E C K was this week announced as the Welsh Music Prize winner of 2024 for his 2023 breakthrough album, 'Blood, Sweat & Fears', beating competition from records by Skindred, Gruff Rhys, Chroma and more.
On winning, he commented: "Winning the WMP is far bigger than my musical journey, the messages I’ve received from people who make music not necessarily associated with Wales who are now inspired and motivated is more than I could ask for. I’m simply just a representation of the importance of diversity in art."
