Metallica To Take M72 World Tour To Australia And New Zealand In November 2025

Metallica will take their M72 World Tour to Australia and New Zealand in 2025.
The thrash metal icons have scheduled six stadium shows, kicking off in Perth on November 1, before stops in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. They'll then head across the water to wrap up the run at Eden Park in Auckland on November 19. The band said:
"It’s the announcement we’ve been wanting to make for a very long time, and we are beyond thrilled to have locked down a return to Australia and New Zealand in November 2025!
"We’ll be hitting stadiums this time around and look forward to visiting some of our favourite cities in the world for a total of six shows.
"This will be the Metallica Family reunion we’ve been waiting for, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you next year!"
The new run features only one show in each city, unlike the band's No Repeat Weekend tour dates, which sees them playing two dates in the same city, as has been the tradition on previous legs of the tour. The staging will also be shifted to one end of each stadium, instead of the band performing 'in the round'.
Evanescence and Suicidal Tendencies will support on all dates, and tickets go on general sale at 12pm local time on November 4.
Last month, Metallica added another round of North American dates to the record-breaking M72 World Tour, spanning April, May, and June 2025, commencing on April 12 with a headline performance at Las Vegas festival Sick New World. They'll also play No Repeat Weekend headline sets at Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio on May 9 and 11.
Later this year, they'll perform at a charity show and auction at Los Angeles' YouTube Theater on December 13, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and raising money for their All Within My Hands foundation.
Metallica are touring behind their latest album, '72 Seasons', which arrived in April 2023 via their own Blackened label.
