Rod Stewart To Play Glastonbury Festival Legends Slot In 2025

Rod Stewart is the first act to be announced for next summer's Glastonbury.
The veteran performer will play the Pyramid Stage in the prestigious "legends" slot, having previously headlined the world-famous festival back in 2002, alongside Coldplay and Stereophonics.
Both Stewart and the festival's co-organiser Emily Eavis confirmed the news with a post on X. Eavis wrote:
"Bringing Sir Rod Stewart back for the Sunday afternoon slot on the Pyramid stage is everything we could wish for. What a way to bow out with the final legends slot before we take a fallow year. We cannot wait!"
Stewart said: "I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that I’ll be playing Glastonbury 2025! After all these years, I’m proud and ready and more than able to take the stage again to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury in June. I’ll see you there!"
The 79-year-old, known for hits Maggie May, Sailing and I Don't Want To Talk About It, will follow in the footsteps of Dolly Parton, Barry Gibb, Shania Twain and Kylie Minogue in taking the teatime Sunday slot, which is often viewed as the festival's fourth headliner.
The sold-out Glastonbury festival will return to Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset between June 25 and 29. The first line-up poster is not usually revealed until the spring.
Stewart collaborated with Jools Holland to release 'Swing Fever' back in February. His most recent solo album is 2021's 'The Tears Of Hercules'.
He has a Las Vegas residency in the diary for next year, with dates lined up in March, May and June, and has North American shows scheduled in Februrary, March, July and August for his One Last Time Tour, which will head across Europe in April and May. He'll also play shows in Spain and Denmark on December 15 and 18, respectively.
