Great Grandpa will return with their first new album in five years this spring.

The Seattle indie-rock band will release 'Patience, Moonbeam' via Run For Cover Records on March 28, following up 2019's 'Four Of Arrows' and 2017's 'Plastic Cough'.

The group first started work on a new record in 2021, before each member got pulled in different directions. They all reconnected in 2023 and decided to scrap their previous ideas and start again. The band's Dylan Hanwright said:

"We’re all like individual swinging pendulums, and every now and then we come into sync for a few rotations. Sometimes it’s two of us, sometimes three of us, often it’s not any of us. But when it does come together, it’s really beautiful."

To coincide with the announcement, the quintet have shared a new acoustic track, Junior, which offers a folky, heartland rock aesthetic. It follows their two 2024 singles, Kid and Doom, both of which also appear on the LP.

Great Grandpa will showcase their new music at a handful of US shows between January 29 and March 23. Head here for details.

'Patience, Moonbeam' tracklist:

1. Sleep
2. Never Rest
3. Junior
4. Emma
5. Lady Bug
6. Kiss The Dice
7. Doom
8. Task
9. Top Gun
10. Patience, Moonbeam
11. Ephemera
