Self Esteen has announced her new album.
Rebecca Lucy Taylor will release 'A Complicated Woman', the follow-up to 2021's 'Prioritise Pleasure', on April 25 through Polydor Records.
The record features a choir of numerous female voices that Taylor describes as, “a community of people. I want you to hear and feel the connection." There will also be contributions from singer-songwriters Nadine Shah, Moonchild Sanelly and Sue Tompkins from Life Without Buildings, as well as American drag queen Meatball and Lancaster actress Julie Hesmondhalgh.
As a preview, the English multi-hyphenate has shared the record's first single, Focus Is Power, a piano and strings-led anthem of empowerment, complete with rousing choral vocals from the aforementioned choir. It arrives with a video filmed by her longtime collaborator Piers Dennis.
Self Esteem will headline this year's End Of The Road festival at Larmer Tree Gardens in Salisbury, Wiltshire in late August.
