L E M F R E C K has shared a new single, Stay Calm.
Pensive and atmospheric, with clever wordplay over skittering beats, the rap track follows Fine, Slip Away and Come Outside En in previewing the Newport artist's new EP, 'We've Been Here', due out on May 2 via The Orchard. He said:
"Stay calm is about your environment being on fire and there is nothing you can do about it. It’s the realisation that you can work on yourself as much as you like to but there are just some things you can’t change."
Co-produced with Harry Edwards, who has previously worked with Beyoncé and Travis Scott, the EP follows his 2023 breakthrough album, 'Blood, Sweat & Fears', which won the 2024 Welsh Music Prize. On its themes, L E M F R E C K added:
"The whole project is about how I struggle to learn my lesson. I have always thought that if a certain situation happens again, I would make sure I made the right decisions. Yet here I am again doing the same things that eventually lead to stress."
L E M F R E C K will headline a stage at the multi-venue festival FOCUS Wales in Wrexham, North Wales in May. Tickets are on sale now. Further festival appearances are to be revealed soon.
