Billy Idol Announces New Studio Album 'Dream Into It' With First Single Still Dancing

Billy Idol has announced his first full-length album of new music in over a decade.
The rock legend will release 'Dream Into It' through Dark Horse Records on April 25, following up 2014's 'Kings & Queens Of The Underground'.
Comprising nine tracks, and boasting collaborations with Avril Lavigne, Joan Jett, and Alison Mosshart of The Kills, it's previewed by Still Dancing, an autobiographical song that offers Idol's new-wave-meets-punk sound, with driving guitars and an infectious chorus. "Still Dancing is really a reflection of my whole journey. From the punk rock period through to now. And I’m still looking towards the future, still living the life I set out to live. At the start of the song I’m recalling the early times in London, when I was living in squats or at friends’ apartments, all my belongings in a plastic bag. Everybody at home or work told you what you were doing was never going to happen. But punk rock gave me an opening. I was surrounded by people who loved the music as deeply as I did and you were going to throw caution to the wind, believe in what you were doing and grab on for dear life.
"As the song says, there have been many moments along the way where I’ve been self-destructive. But what’s seen me through is that unflinching belief in the music that started all those years ago. That’s been the greatest gift of all."
Idol, 69, will support the record with his It’s a Nice Day To…Tour Again! Tour across North America in the spring and summer, with support from Joan Jett and The Blackhearts. Tickets are on sale now and $5 from every ticket sold for the Los Angeles date is being donated to the American Red Cross, with Idol matching the donation, to support communities impacted by the recent California wildfires.
He'll also play shows in Europe and the UK during the summer, including the new Forever Now festival in Milton Keynes on June 22, and London's OVO Arena Wembley on June 24, which marks his only headline UK show of the year. Support in London will come from special guests New Model Army. Tickets are on sale now.
In the time since his last studio album, the singer, songwriter and musician has released a live record, a remix album, and a festive LP, as well as two EPs, 'The Roadside' and 'The Cage'. He also put a deluxe 40th anniversary edition of his landmark second album, 'Rebel Yell', in 2024, and a concert film titled Billy Idol: State Line back in 2023.
