Little Simz has laid out plans for her sixth studio album.
The Mercury Prize, BRIT and MOBO Award-winning rapper will release 'Lotus' through AWAL Recordings on May 9, following up 2022's 'No Thank You', and last year's seventh instalment of her 'Drop' EP series.
Alongside the announcement, Simz has shared the record's first single, Flood, which is propelled by Miles Clinton James' thunderous and hypnotic percussion-based production, over which the London artist drops her signature sharp lyricism. There's also haunting vocal contributions from longtime collaborator Obongjayar and South African artist Moonchild Sanelly. Head below to view the accompanying video, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Salomon Ligthelm.
Simz will curate and perform at the 30th edition of Meltdown Festival, which returns to London's Southbank Centre between June 12 and 22. The first names for the line-up will be revealed in the spring. Head here for details.
