Earth, Wind & Fire To Play Trio Of UK Summer Dates & Tickets

One of the premier soul-groups of the 1970’s Earth, Wind & Fire have announced they will play a trio of dates in the UK this Summer.

Kicking-off their brief three day tour, the seven time Grammy Award winning group will play Manchester’s Evening News Arena on 20th July before a next-day performance at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena and then wrapping up at London’s O2 Arena on 23rd July.

Earth, Wind And Fire are simply one of the most important, influential and innovative funk pop bands of the 20th century. In their 41-year history, the group have sold millions of albums worldwide (including eight double platinum albums, two platinum albums and three gold albums), and have also scored countless hits in the pop and R&B charts.

Leaving a lasting legacy to the music world, many pop and R&B artists today are influenced by Earth, Wind & Fire’s music, Wycleaf Jean to mention one, who has produced tracks for the band’s more recent releases.

Having set the 1970’s alight with hits such as “September”, “After The Love Has Gone” and “Lets Groove”, Earth, Wind & Fire took time-out in the 1980’s to reinvigorate themselves. Rejoining again to release the 1994 ‘Millennium’ album it was obvious the easy partneship of Philip Bailey and Maurice White had been renewed and the dynamic sound and interplay between the pair’s contrasting vocals was back!

EWF have also been inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. With 90 millions albums sold worldwide they have definitely earned their place on the list of best-selling music artists, where they are currently ranked seventh best selling American band of all time.

Earth, Wind & Fire will play the following UK dates:

July 2010

20th Evening News Arena, Manchester
21st National Indoor Arena, Birmingham
22nd O2 Arena, London

Tickets are available from 9am on Friday 26th March.
