Keane have been announced as the surprise addition to Donnington's Download Festival.
Joining the elite ranks of rock and heavy metal acts such as AC/DC, Rage Against The Machine and Aerosmith, the East Sussex based band will play before Aerosmith on the Sunday night.
Speaking to BBC News, Tom Chaplin, the band's troubled lead singer, said "it's a fantastic announcement and a chance for a new audience to enjoy our music. I think we might be one of the softer acts of the festival but we have a few covers in mind for the night...you don't want to miss a thing".
The trio have a new EP out this summer, Night Train, so one would expect they will be showcasing their new material, as well as treating the Download goers to Hopes and Fears, Under The Iron Sea & Perfect Symmetry too.
We at Stereoboard are delighted that the bridge between heavy metal and commercial music has finally been built. Buy your Download Tickets HERE!.
