80s eccentric Grace Jones has accused Lady Gaga of ‘copying’ her, turning down an invitation to work with the popstar because she isn’t original.
Chatting to The Guardian, Jones explained that she doesn’t play with “other acts as a rule”. Speaking about Lady Gaga, she added that “I don’t really think of her at all. I go about my business”.
But when pressed about comments in the week made by M.I.A that Gaga was in fact copying her style, Jones said “I’ve seen some things she’s worn that I’ve worn, and that does kind of piss me off”.
Jones also revealed that Lady Gaga had in fact asked the singer to collaborate on a project, explaining that she had turned the offer down. She commented “I’d just prefer to work with someone who is more original and someone who is not copying me, actually.”
We at Stereoboard.com are saddened by this news...and by saddened we mean mildly indifferent...and by mildly indifferent, we mean that we don’t care, actually.
