Hungry Kids Of Hungary have confirmed they will be appearing at Brighton's The Great Escape, London City Showcase and Musexpo Europe
The Australian band will arrive in May kicking off their UK tour at London City Showcase, playing the XFM (John Kennedy night) at The Borderline followed by The Great Escape May 13th Jam Brighton, Musexpo Europe in June as well as other UK shows.
Delivering immaculate indie tunes with a healthy dose of 60’s pop sensibility, Hungry Kids of Hungary combine an inimitable mix of boy-next-door charm and mischievous-school-boy mayhem. Forming in March 2007 the band wasted no time carving out a name for themselves on the Australian music scene with an outbreak of radio singles, the band have since established a loyal live fan base with their relentless national touring regime.
The band’s self-titled debut EP highlights its musical range, and includes jangly pop gems, hushed ballads and slinky soul numbers.
The band’s second EP ‘Mega Mountain’ was released into stores nationwide, along with its debut, in April 2009, and radio success has continued with the single release of ‘Scattered Diamonds’. The single reached top 5 on the Aussie AIR Charts and the EP has received strong reviews.
In 2009 the band toured alongside fellow Unearthed artists Philadelphia Grand Jury and Washington, HKoH then secured national supports for Little Birdy and Bertie Blackman.
November 2009 saw the band stand on their own eight feet, parading their buoyant brand of indie pop around Australia on their very first headline jaunt on the back of the release of their stand-alone single ‘Let You Down’. After finding that time moves quickly when you don’t stop, the monumentally busy year was capped off with solid festival appearances at Woodford, Falls, Sunset Sounds and Southbound.
This year now sees them on a overseas assault to the UK.
