Fifteen years since the release of their first record, which they sold themselves at their own gigs, Feeder have announced plans for a brand new UK tour this October.
Feeder’s seventh studio album ‘Renegades’ is set for release later this year on July 5th and will feature eleven tracks including new single ‘Call Out’. The album captures some heavier material created by the band, which was showcased at some “secret” gigs the group played under the name of ‘Renegades’ earlier this year.
The band are scheduled to appear at a host of festivals this summer and will hit the road for the first Feeder tour since 2008 in the autumn. Kicking off the new tour in Leeds on October 21st, the show calls at venues in Glasgow, Manchester, Wolverhampton, Bristol, London and Oxford before finishing in Southampton on October 31st.
With 25 hit singles notched up, 4.5 million record sales, 6 full length studio albums, not to mention the double platinum ‘Singles Collection’ from 2006, founding member vocalist Grant Nicholas, bassist Taka Hirose and drummer Karl Brazil are as passionate as ever, but with a renewed sense of energy and excitement.
The new album has been described as going back to the early days of Feeder’s sound. With the band releasing ‘Renegades’ on their own, there is no interference from any Record Company and it comes across in a very raw, very honest album. Production is stripped down but they have kept what the fans want, melodies and dynamics of what makes that classic Feeder sound.
Feeder will play the following UK dates:
