Kings Of Leon New Album Is A “Fun Record”

Thursday, 27 May 2010 Written by Matt Hamm

King’s Of Leon sticksman Nathan Followill has spoken about the group’s excitement and surprise in how uplifting the new album is sounding.

Speaking to SPIN magazine, Followill described the album as “fun”, citing New York as an unexpected lighthearted inspiration. Explaining that it was the band’s first time to record in New York, Nathan said “we thought we’d come out with a darker record because we’d done all our records in either Nashville or Los Angeles where it’s a little more chilled out”.

In a possibly more exciting and enticing draw for long time fans of the band, the drummer feels it’s more like their ‘Youth & Young Manhood’ days, with “songs that are beach-y”. If you’re one of the lucky ones seeing them at their Bonnaroo festival appearance in June, Followill has promised the group are expected to play their new tracks.
