Indie giants Kasabian will be bringing something special to their upcoming festival appearances.
With the death of Oasis last year, Kasabian seem to have taken over the throne to be crowned kings of British indie-rock. The band have confirmed an appearance at two UK summer festivals this year and the band’s constant touring has paid off with the group knowing exactly how to put on some stunning shows.
Releasing some massive fan anthems, the Leicester band will be blasting out hits such as ‘Empire’, ‘Shoot The Runner’ and ‘Fire’ across two fields this summer with Kasabian set to play at T In The Park and V Festival.
Promising fans something special, Serge Pizzorno explained to BBC 6 Music that "it's taken 6 years to get here, so it's going to be an amazing sort of euphoric celebration. A thank you to anyone who's seen us back in the day because I'm sure people who've got tickets probably came to the first shows and it's nice for them to see us get there, it's going to be monumental I think."
Touring some of the biggest UK arenas last year whilst supporting their latest album ‘West Ryder Pauper Asylum’, Kasabian are expected to create some huge summer parties at their upcoming festival appearances.
However, football fans may be already aware that Kasabian’s headline slot at T In The Park will be clashing with the World Cup Final, which could feature England.
Themselves being massive football fans, Kasabian had this to say about the clash. "We'll probably miss it, I think we're playing T in the Park on the final so we might not get to see it, I would take that over the final, if anywhere can be better than the final it's playing there."
Guitarist Serge Pizzorno also unvealed details of some new material he has been writing, "I've got some tunes and I thought I'd get them down, they sound sort of Jackson 5, yeah one tune imparticular."
