Overnight sensation Owl City is to the tour the UK and Ireland later this year with a string of dates scheduled for November.
It has been a sensational year for Owl City, otherwise known as Adam Young. The 23-year-old started things off with his debut single ‘Fireflies’ hitting the Number One spot in the UK as well as 22 other countries.
Spending three weeks at the top of the UK chart, the record has gone on to sell over 6 million copies worldwide and has been played constantly on the radio for months (to the point of annoyance personally!). However with the second single ‘Umbrella Beach’ set to be dropped sometime this summer – this track is going to be a much more upbeat song!
Climbing from strength to strength, Owl City’s debut album ‘Ocean Eyes’ has now notched up over 1.5 million sales worldwide and has been showcased around the world for the last 9 months. Adam Young will now be looking forward to a return home for the summer where he plans to focus on writing that all-important second album, due for release this December.
Young will next hit the road in August for a short tour with Maroon 5 and John Mayer before being supported by Tokyo Police Club and Unwed Sailor on the European leg of his next worldwide headline tour.
Owl City will play the following UK and Ireland dates:
