Snoop Dogg Announces Extra UK Shows To Follow Festival Appearances & Tickets

American rapper Snoop Dogg has announced a series of UK and Ireland headline shows to follow his Wireless festival support slot in Hyde Park later next month.
Perhaps one of the most famous American rap stars and producers to emerge out of the early 1990’s gangsta rap scene, Snoop Dogg’s 1993 debut album ‘Doggystyle’ was the first ever debut record to enter the charts at Number One. On top of that the album quickly went quadruple platinum and spawned several hit singles.
It has been 18 years since Snoop dropped that first record and now having released his 10th studio album ‘Malice In Wonderland’ last year, Snoop’s career is still flying high with numerous collaborations, hit singles, televison and film appearances as well as his own reality TV show etched onto the star’s list of achievements.
With all this in mind however, it seemed that Snoop Dogg’s high-flying lifestyle nose-dived when he and his entourage were involved in a scuffle at London’s Heathrow airport in 2006. The rapper was detained and later released following his actions but it did result in UK immigration authorities refusing to grant Snoop at visa for any future UK shows.
Only recently, in February 2010, a legal battle to overturn the decision resulted in the conclusion that Snoop Dogg only played a minor role in the airport scuffle and the rapper’s application for a temporary visa into the UK was granted.
Preparing for a show at this year’s Glastonbury as well as a support slot at Wireless festival, Snoop Dogg will be making the most of his UK visit with this new annoucement of more shows.
Snoop Dogg will play the following UK and Ireland dates:
July 2010
4th O2 Academy, Glasgow
5th Live At The Marquee, Cork
6th Olympia Theatre, Dublin
9th O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, London
Tickets are on sale from 9am on Friday 18th June priced from £33.50, with prices from £45.00 for the London and Glasgow shows.
