Live Events Beat Dating Sites For Finding Love

New research reveals that going to a live event is the best way to find love. More successful romances start at gigs, festivals, sporting events and even the theatre than by using dating websites.

The study highlighted festivals as the number one place to pull this summer, theatre as the destination to find a one night stand and comedy shows the best place to start a new relationship.

The research by viagogo revealed that:

     * You're almost twice as likely to get a snog at a festival than if you had met someone on a dating website

     * Nearly twice as likely to marry someone you meet at the theatre than on a dating site or at a wedding

     * One in twenty people have children with someone they met at a sporting event

     * One in five people (18 per cent) went on a date with someone they met at a comedy show

     * Festivals and gigs proven best place to get someone's phone number for one in seven (15 per cent) singles

Ed Parkinson, Director of viagogo UK, said: "The research highlights that being surrounded by people at a live event with a shared interest can present exciting new love opportunities. Whether it's the sunshine, the atmosphere or one too many beers, there's no substitute for going to live events and meeting someone new."
