Manchester’s Oceansize have announced a bunch of UK tour dates as well as details of their fourth full-length studio album ‘Self Preserved While The Bodies Float Up’.
The new album is expected to drop on 6th September, which is just before Oceansize hit the road for what will be a six-date UK tour taking in five venues across England as well as one venue in Wales.
Currently based in Manchester, Oceansize were awarded ‘Unsigned Band Of The Year 2000’ by local rag The Manchester Evening News. Creating often noisy but brilliant tracks, using a unique range of sounds from blissful bare melancholy to thundering guitar.
Even though Oceansize have been around for quite a while, surprisingly this new album is only the fourth offering from the band. Recorded over spring this year with a mastering session at the historic Abbey Road studios, the record is made up of ten songs that are shorter in duration than the previous track, if that makes sense. A nice little novelty I guess.
The tour kicks-off later this year in autumn time and Oceansize raise the curtain at Liverpool’s O2 Academy on 25th September. The band then travel to Cambridge, Birmingham, Cardiff, Portsmouth and Brighton.
Oceansize will play the following UK dates:
September 2010
24th O2 Academy, Liverpool
25th Aru Cambridge
28th O2 Academy, Birmingham
29th Millennium Music Hall, Cardiff
