Hottest Glastonbury Festival Since 1995

There is never any real fixed agenda to the Glastonbury festival, not one year can ever be described as the same as another. There was no exception this year, which saw Glastonbury celebrate it’s 40th anniversary under some of the hottest sunshine it’s ever seen.

The range of music performed on the event’s many varied stages, the unpredictable weather, the diversity of the revellers all builds towards forming one of the most extreme festivals in the world.

Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and baking in the hottest temperatures since 1995, the festival became a much more noctural affair this time around with revellers trying to avoid the sweltering sun.

Many fans who often try to grab the best bits of various bands across the site opted for a more relaxed approach to their weekend this year. Instead of dashing around Worthy Farm stage after stage, many people preferred to avoid the long hikes and watch entire sets of their favourite acts.

I think the most distance travelled by anyone during the daytime was from the stage to the bar and back again. It really was a scorcher! The many smaller stages of Glastonbury reportedly clocked-up higher than usual crowds with many fans staying put rather than wandering around the 600-acre festival site.

With campers adventuring out into the much more bareable evening sunshine, when night fell, Glastonbury came alive more than usual. The Alice in Wonderland themed grounds in The Park and the Blade Runner-style, trippy corridors within Shangri-La, the moonlit fields of Glastonbury offered a much cooler playground for the 40th birthday party goers.

Remembered for not only it's great acts, but perhaps more for it’s baking temperatures, Glastonbury’s 40th birthday party will go down in history as one of the hottest on record. Hot days spent under cloudless skies with some wild aftershow parties. Lets not complain too much though – we could’ve experienced the return of those damn floods!

Happy 40th Birthday Glastonbury, Stereoboard will be with you next year for another great five days!
