Organisers of this year’s T in the Park festival have decided to ban the dreaded vuvuzela, the instrument creating the annoying background drone to South Africa’s World Cup.
The vuvuzela is responsible for the hideous drone you’re hearing as you watch the World Cup games on TV, or if lucky enough, within the stadium! It is understood that the offending horn instrument has been outlawed by T in the Park festival organisers with an email being sent out to everyone who has bought a ticket for the three-day Scottish bash.
“As T in the Park is a music festival and whilst there is always a fantastic party atmosphere we have also got to respect the artists and the thousands of fans who want to hear their music without being disturbed by noises such as vuvuzelas in the crowd."
Resembling nothing more than the sound of a swarm of bees, the ban on the horns will come as good news to those festival goers who were at this year’s Glastonbury camping in the Michael’s Mead field. Why’s that you ask? Well at around 6.30am on Thursday June 24th one irritating individual decided to awake several hundred campers with a loud blast of his vuvuzela! The swine!
T in the Park will feature high-profile performances from Eminem, Muse, Kasabian and Jay-Z this year, with the event taking place in Baldo, Kinross in Scotland.
