Damon Albarn Tickets, Tour Dates & Concerts 2024/2025 ♫Last Updated: 14 Dec 2021 11:07am
Damon Albarn is a singer-songwriter, musician, and producer from Upper Leytonstone, London.
Born in 1968, he would first break out as a star fronting Britpop icons Blur, and later as the main man behind alternative hip hop collective Gorillaz. With Blur, Albarn released eight studio records and rode the crest of the Britpop wave, touring from the early 1990s through to their initial hiatus in 2003. Their most recent album is 2015's 'The Magic Whip'. He has rarely been out of the limelight, having broken new ground with seven Gorillaz records and their now iconic audio-visual accompaniments. Having also worked on operas, including Dr Dee and Monkey: Journey to the West, and contributed to film soundtracks, all that was really left to do for Albarn was to try going it completely alone – and of course, he did just that. He released his first solo record 'Dr Dee' in 2012, followed by his Mercury Prize-nominated sophomore album 'Everyday Robots' in 2014. His most recent solo release, 'The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows', arrived in 2021. He has been awarded some of the highest honours in music, with The Daily Telegraph ranking him in the top 20 of their 100 Most Powerful People In British Culture list. He has also received an Ivor Novello Award for Lifetime Achievement and was appointed the OBE title in 2016, for services to music. Damon Albarn will will perform as part of the BRITs Week celebrations in aid of War Child UK in February 2022, ahead of his UK, Ireland and European dates, which run from later that month and into March.
