Dessa, real name Margret Wander, is an American rapper, singer and spoken word poet from Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Starting her music career in 2005, she joined the indie hip hop collective Doomtree, and released her debut solo EP, ‘False Hopes’, in 2005. She released her debut album, ‘A Badly Broken Code’ in 2010, followed by ‘Castor, the Twin’, in 2011, and ‘Parts of Speech’ in 2013. In 2018, Desss will release a book - My Own Devices. Due for release in September, it tells true stories from the road on music, science and senseless love. She's also confirmed a UK tour for November.
