Dilated Peoples are an American hip-hop outfit hailing from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 1992, they were a massive underground group, and have survived right through the rise and falls of the rap genre, still releasing records and performing today. The trio consists of MCs Rakaa Iriscience and Evidence, and DJ and producer Babu.
In 1995 they put together their first collection 'Imagery, Battlehymns, & Political Poetry', which never officially saw a release on anything other than as bootlegs - their first official record 'The Platform' hit shelves in 2000 via Capitol. Their next record, 'Expansion Team', saw them finding considerable commerical success, peaking inside the US Top 40. Continuing on to this day, the band released their fifth proper LP 'Directors of Photography' in 2014 - catch them in the UK for a show at London’s XOYO in August 2015.
