Fantasia Barrino-Taylor is a singer and actress from High Point, North Carolina.
First rising to fame after winning the third season of American Idol in 2004, she went on to open for Kanye West, Andrea Bocelli and Jamie Foxx, as well as headlining her own huge North American tours and winning a Grammy. Still among the show's biggest success stories, she has released seven studio albums to date—the latest being 'Sketchbook' in 2019—and even starred as Celie Harris-Johnson in the Oscar-nominated film adaptation of The Color Purple musical, which earned her Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations.
