Starting his music career in 1955, he released nine albums with doo-wop group Parliament between 1970-1980. During the same period, Clinton was also a member of Funkadelic, with whom he released a further 16 albums. He launched his solo career in the 1980s, and has since released 10 studio albums—his most recent being 'George Clinton and His Gangsters of Love' in 2008—and has been inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
