Helmet are an alternative metal band from New York City, New York.
Formed in 1989, they released their debut album, ‘Strap It On’, the following year and have put out a further seven albums. The band split in 1998, shortly after the release of 'Aftertaste', but reformed in 2004 armed with a new album in the shape of 'Size Matters' and have gone from strength to strength ever since. Their discography now hosts a total of nine studio records including, most recently, 'Left' in 2023. Helmet will celebrate 30 years of their album 'Betty' with a show at London's Electric Ballroom on December 10, 2024.
