Kamasi Washington is a saxophonist, composer and producer from Los Angeles, California.
Starting his music career in 1999 after winning the John Coltrane Music Competition, he has gone on to perform on albums from some of the biggest artists in hip hop, R&B and beyond, including Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Thundercat, St Vincent and Run The Jewels. In addition to this, he has put out a string of his own studio albums, live records and EPs, as well as releases under the Throttle Elevator Music moniker, and as part of the jazz collective West Coast Get Down. He's due to drop his next full-length solo serving, 'Fearless Movement', in May 2024. One of the most respected acts in his genre, his work has been acknowledged with a number of honours, including nominations for a Grammy, a BRIT Award and an Emmy. Kamasi Washington will support his new record with a tour of the UK, Ireland and Europe in autumn 2024, following a North American trek in the spring.
