Lola Young is a singer-songwriter from South East London.
Starting to write songs at 11 years old, by the age of 13 she had beaten out over 9,000 other acts across the country to win Open Mic UK and is a graduate of the prestigious BRIT school, whose alumni includes the likes of Amy Winehouse, Adele, Jessie J and Loyle Carner. She released her debut album 'Intro' in 2019, followed by a handful of EPs and singles. In 2021, she firmly established her name among the most exciting upcoming acts in music, receiving a Rising Star BRIT Award nomination before her cover of Together In Electric Dreams was selected for the John Lewis Christmas Advert, earning her the fourth place spot on the BBC Sound of 2022. Her second LP, 'My Mind Wanders And Sometimes Leaves Completely', arrived in 2023, but she truly shot to fame in 2024, when her single Messy became a viral TikTok smash and hit the #1 spot in the UK's Official Singles Chart. That same year, she featured on a track with Tyler, The Creator and put out her third album, 'This Wasn't Meant for You Anyway'. Lola Young has rescheduled her This Wasn't Meant For You Anyway Tour of the UK to March 2025. She'll also headline a show as part of London's Meltdown Festival in June 2025, curated by Little Simz.
