Luton Town Football Club were founded in April 1885 following a merge between Luton Wanderers and Luton Excelsior.
The club was one of the founding members of the Southern League in 1894, before becoming a member of the Football League three years later. The team, known by the fans as the Hatters, have played their home matches at Kenilworth Road since 1905. Their supporters maintain a bitter rivalry with Hertfordshire-based Watford Football Club.
