Martha Reeves and the Vandellas are an American R&B pop girl group from Detroit, Michigan.
Formed in 1957, the group originally featured Annette Beard, Rosalind Ashford, Gloria Williams, and Martha Reeves. They signed to Motown's Gordy imprint in 1962 and after the departure of Williams, Reeves moved to lead vocals. They gained their first hit with Come and Get These Memories, soon followed by (Love is Like A) Heatwave and Quicksand. They are also known for tracks such as Dancing in the Street, Nowhere to Run and My Baby Loves Me. The group disbanded in 1972. Martha Reeves went on to launch a solo career and started touring under the name Martha Reeves and the Vandellas in 2010, and are still playing shows! Martha Reeves and the Vandellas will join forces with The Four Tops and Tavares for three-way co-headline UK tour in September 2024.
