Mos Def—also known as Yasiin Bey—is a rapper and songwriter from Brooklyn, New York.
One of the most popular hip hop artists to come out of the ‘90s rap scene, he is also know for featuring in the duo Black Star, alongside Talib Kweli. He released his debut album, 'Black On Both Sides', in 2009, and went on to drop a further four studio albums including, most recently, 2019's 'ንጉሥ (Negus)'. He has also put out albums with Talib Kweli as Black Star, UTD, and with Ferrari Sheppard as Dec 99th. His efforts have earned him a number of awards and accolades, including six Grammys. Mos Def will celebrate the 20th anniversary of his debut album, 'Black On Both Sides', with a headline show at London's Troxy on October 7, 2022.
