George Evelyn, better known by his stage name Nightmares on Wax or DJ E.A.S.E., is a DJ and electronic music composer from Leeds, England. He's currently signed to Warp Records and was one of the first releases on the label.
Evelyn got his start in the music industry through an interest in hip hop and joining a local breakdancing crew. He started as a DJ with John Halnon then Kevin Harper and together they released their first album in 1991, 'A Word of Science: The First and Final Chapter'. Halnon is an established engineer/producer, and Harper has since become a solo DJ. As well a a whole host of EPs, singles, mixes, and compilation albums, Nightmares on Wax has released seven studio albums. After his debut, his career saw 'Smokers Delight' in 1995, 'Carboot Soul' in 1999, 'Mind Elevation' in 2002, 'In a Space Outta Sound' in 2006, 'Thought So' in 2008, and finally 'Feelin' Good' in 2013. The highest of which got to #47 in the UK album charts. After the success of the February UK tour, Nightmares on Wax has announced a London show in November.
