Princess Nokia, otherwise known as Destiny Frasqueri, is a New York rapper signed to Rough Trade.
Her first song, Destiny, was recorded in 2010 after growing up under an abusive foster care family in East Harlem. She released it under the name Wavy Spice on Soundcloud and her YouTube channel in 2012. Her second track, Bitch I'm Posh, went viral and received over 110,000 streams on Soundcloud. Princess Nokia has released a handful of mixtapes, including 'Metallic Butterfly' in 2014 and 'Honeysuckle' in 2015. She also put out the '1992' EP in 2016 and the 'G.O.A.T' EP the following year. Her debut album, '1992 Deluxe', was released in 2017, and she followed it up with 'A Girl Cried Red' in 2018. She went on to drop the double album 'Everything Is Beautiful' and 'Everything Sucks' in 2020. Princess Nokia has rescheduled her UK shows to June 2021 in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
