Roy Harper is an British singer, songwriter and musician from Rusholme, Manchester.
Starting his music career in 1964, he released his debut album, ‘Sophisticated Beggar’ in 1966 via Strike Records. He then signed to Columbia Records and release his second album, ‘Come Out Fighting Ghengis Smith’ in 1968. His third album, ‘Folkjokeopus’, came out in 1969, via Liberty Records. He signed to Harvest Records in the early 1970s and released a further eight records including the acclaimed ‘Stormcock’ in 1971. His last release was 2013’s ‘Man and Myth’ in 2013. He has played countless shows and tours over the years including a performance at London's Royal Festival Hall in 2011 to celebrate his 70th birthday, with special guests such as Joanna Newsom and Jimmy Page.
