Sham 69 are an English punk rock band from Hersham, Surrey, currently consisting of founding member and frontman Jimmy Pursey, alongside longtime guitarist Dave Parsons and bassist Dave Tregunna, as well as drummer Robin Guy.
Formed in 1975, the band released their debut single, I Don’t Want To Know in October 1977, and their debut album ‘Tell Us the Truth’ came out in 1978. The band had their biggest success in 1979 with their third album, ‘The Adventures of the Hersham Boys’, which reached #8 in the UK Albums Chart. The band split in 1979, and reformed in 1987, releasing a further nine albums, the latest being ‘It'll End in Tears’, which came out in 2015. Sham 69 have announced a show at Cardiff’s Tramshed in June 2020, with the original 1977 line up of the band.
