Simple Minds are a new wave band from Glasgow.
Formed in 1977, the band have released 18 studio albums to date, including their 1979 debut 'Life In A Day' and their most recent full-length, 2022's 'Direction Of The Heart'. They are perhaps best known for their hit Don't You (Forget About Me), which shot them to fame in the 1980s after featuring in the film The Breakfast Club. Simple Minds will tour the UK and Ireland in summer 2025, which includes shows as part of the Trinity Summer Series, Summer Sessions and Live At The Piece Hall concert series, as well as a co-headline performance at Lytham Festival with Texas. Fab trip back in time - intimate venue
Oxford New Theatre on May 2 2013
Fantastic show. I never thought I would see a band like Simple Minds perform within the intimate settings of Oxford's New Theatre! It was so much more enjoyable than seeing them in a larger arena - I saw them in Wembley a few years back - it felt much more special and personal. A little slow off the blocks to begin with but once things got going it was an excellent trip back in time! The crowd were totally into the performance!
