Tarja, full name Tarja Turunen-Cabuli, is a Finnish heavy metal and classical singer-songwriter from Kitee.
Starting her musical career in 1996 as a member of Nightwish, she left the band in 1995 and launched her solo career the following year, releasing the classical album 'Henkäys Ikuisuudesta'. Her debut solo rock album, ‘My Winter Storm’, came out in 2007, followed by 'Colours In The Dark' in 2013, and a second classical LP, 'Ave Maria – En Plein Air' in 2015. 'The Shadow Self' dropped in 2016 and her last studio full-length effort was 2019's 'In The Raw'. In late 2022, she put out 'Best Of: Living The Dream'.
